Default Disobedient minions

Anyone noticed the fact that minions don't seem to follow very well now? They seem to sort of just stand there and won't start moving to you immediately when you animate them. Nowadays, I can't be bothered to wait for my minions to catch up before sending in my heroes to aggro.

It's been like this for months (not all minions seem to have this problem, but the ones added with Factions and Nightfall tend to in particular).

Angel, this seems more of a problem on some maps than others, if it is a problem. In some cases, the following will work, though not with ranged minions.

Pull either with a longbow, or by touching aggro radius. Then run towards the minions. They will be charging forward as you run towards them. This will get them fully aggro'd and let you attack your target of choice without taking heavy fire.

I have been having a real problem with the flesh golem. When the party starts to move out to go the next group he just stands there. I leave him behind alot. By the time he finally catches up we are done killing

Yep.

Vampiric, Shambling and Jagged horrors need some love from the AI programmer.

Same here. Not to mention that half the time my fleshie (his name is Lumpy, btw) is so far behind my party when he expires that it's not worth going back that far to regen him. The shamblings (referred to by my friends as "The Shrimp") aren't much faster than Lumpy, and the Vampiric/Bone Horrors seem to oddly become pacifists at the most inconvenient of moments.

Like most of the rest of the AI, the minion AI could seriously use a rollback.

in my experience, Bone Fiends, Bone Horrors, Bone Minions, and Vampiric Bone Horrors do not have the AI problem. The Flesh Golem and the Shambling Horrors usually lag behind me, not moving untill i'm 2-3 aggro bubbles away.

Kinda annoying.

Yeah I noted that when my husband's Olias Hero raised a flesh golem he just stood there for about the length of 60-80secs before following... My husband had almost gone off my compass while I was tending to kids and I still beat the flesh golem to the battle area but most everything was dead by then as well -_-

I've noticed this problem as well, and have been complaining about it (mainly to my fiance and my guildies) for a while now. There are times where I will move on with the group and NONE of my minions follow me. They stand there like I haven't moved. By the time they start moving we are usually into the next battle and practically done when they finally catch up.

I've also had the issue where the minions will just stand there while I'm getting beat on; like there's no battle going on around them. When they do finally 'wake up' they run around aimlessly (more so than normal) and about the time I run for the hills they pick a target. Watching my golem scratch himself while I'm trying to wand some tank to death is a little bit aggrivating, lol.

I didn't used to have this problem. I used to farm daily with my MM build, but now I can't with how my minions are behaving. Heck, I don't know why I even bother with the build at times. It seems to be semi-ok (for the most part) when I AB, but in PvE the minions are mostly useless with the unexplainable pacifism and falling behind. I've had this issue with all the minions I use (Vamps, Shambling, Fiend, and Golem) not just a few here and there.

ROTFL!! I just peed myself laughing!

My golem always "lags" behind me...I figured he's designed to be slower because he's so big? Wish Anet would bump their speed up a little.

The problem is not their movement speed, it is their response time. We all know they are animated undead, and because of that they should be a bit dumb, but considering the current situations, they're a bit too dumb to be used effectively in most situations.

/sign to the point of this topic: Improve minions AI for a better response time. I bet it's more of a bug in their AI though, so let's fix it My two cents ANet does not want minions with a response time of 30-60 seconds when the battle they should come to is already over.

Yeah, flesh golems, bone fiends and bone horrors all do it for me. Sometimes they end up nearly a radar screen away, especially the flesh golem. By the time he catches up, there's no body left to kill. And sometimes, even when they are with me when I engage, they just stand around and don't attack anything.

Oh yeah, minions I think have become slow reacting since Nightfall's release. It really becomes irritating when you think you can avoid a patrolling mob, and all but one lazy minion manage to stay out of aggro. Then once that happens all your minions go off. I find myself just sacrificing minions now and keep moving, hoping some will come along eventually.

Sometimes they get stuck on the bodies they were just raised from and won't move until the body disappears. But I've noticed the problem with the Flesh Golem just kind of standing around not doing anything as well.

It's the Minions Union, I tells ya! Ever since they started demanding equal drops for equal work it has gone dramatically downhill. That, and the abuse you rarely hear about that minions take from henchmen who consider them illegals taking away their jobs for minimal pay. Wake up people! The only way to fix it is to build a 700 mile fench along the UW and monitor it with cameras!

... Dang... meds wearing off...

I've noticed it as well. Especially last night when I was messing around in the Realm of Torment. I can't recall the exact name of the enemies right now, but they were the Necromancer Torment Demons.

They had animated Shambling Horrors that turned into Jagged Horrors... quite normal, but what caught my eye was that a few Jagged Horrors turned their aggro to me, but when they reached me they just STOOD there. They didn't attack or anything, just stood there next to me. It was very strange...

If my Golem lags, and we are in another battle ... first thing I will raise is a golem! It will kill the other one (punishment for not keeping up) and will get a new one into battle.

Having said that .. I do agree that is behavior is wrong and should be looked into.
